Meet the Team

Cory O'Brien
Cory O'BrienProgram Director

My name is Cory O’Brien. I grew up in Norwood, Massachusetts. I am a person in long term recovery. Beyond that, I am a husband, a dad, a son, a brother, a friend, and I am grateful. I believe a person is much more than their addiction, more than their diagnosis, their job, their living situation, their relationship status.

The best part of my job is… the people. I love watching people grow and change. I love watching people come together and supporting one another. I love watching community develop. When an individual’s life changes, the lives of those around them change. It is an honor not only to witness such inspiration, but also to be part of it.

Carolyn DeverAssistant Program Director

I am a recovery coach with over 4 years of continuous sobriety, I am overjoyed to be part of Turning Point Support Recovery Center. I love having the ability to work with people in recovery and their families.

The best part of my job is… being of service to others, my personal recovery depends on it. I enjoy seeing others grow whether they are in recovery or an ally of a person living with substance use disorder.

John-Michael Burlingame
John-Michael BurlingameCommunity Relationship Developer
I am a Massachusetts native from the Worcester area, grateful to be serving the community through our Recovery Center! I value respect, kindness, innovation, leadership, and teamwork. I earned a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from Worcester State University. I worked in operations, engineering, and management roles over my career in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. As part of my wellness journey, I sought out ways to be of service, and found a welcoming home in recovery outreach work as a volunteer at Turning Point.

The best part of my job is… I love coming up with creative solutions to improve our Center, our organization, and expand the reach and impact of our services. Applying my skills and experience to support this community in innovative ways is incredibly rewarding, and I can always count on our people to embrace my ideas and authentic self with open arms. At the end of the day, the best part for me is seeing and celebrating the continuous growth and change in those I connect with across our community!

My name is Katie and I am a person in long term recovery! I found Turning Point when I was 4 days sober and loved it so much, I needed to be part of their team! I am grateful that I have the opportunity to help people learn and grow in their recovery, just as I did when I first walked through the doors!

My favorite part of my job… Seeing the light come on in people’s eyes when they get sober and being the biggest cheerleader in their recovery!
